Yihaa!!! Very cold high up today. I flew around dodging clouds and cloudsuck. Hard work;-).
Found Eddie Colfox and his client Richard at Toblerone. Got very big air photos. Happy Fred. After that I flew out from the black back. Turned back to Billing flew over takeoff and out to the anthena on the flat. Thermalled out and glided back and toplanded:-)
Chilled and had an omelette. Flew down. Excellent day:-)
4300 today…
Sorry for not updating yesterday. I was too tired…
However the day looked better then meteo said. I took off together with Ettiene and Roni. Plan was to fly to Manali.
After climbing out quite fast and getting up to 3500, we waited for Roni who was his usuall slow for a start then hitting warp speed…
We jumped over the back and followed the cats tail up to 4000 where sadly cloudbase was.
It was not to be a trip to Manali…
Back up infront we went east to railwaystation, turned around and raced towards Dharamsala…
Clouds got bigger and black as hell. It even hailed on me.
One ridge before the goal i turned around after actually flying out to land in town. Roni was on a mission, he wanted to fly to Bir. Soo i joined him. Ettiene turned back abit earlier because of the clouds.
The first valleycrossing was abit scary, it was a horrible black cloud in the back… It rained on me when I thermaled… I kept out from the mountains and on abit of bar.
Finally we landed in temple landing in Bir.
Later i downloaded the flight from my flymaster only to see 98,4k… Sooo close but no cigar.
Today we have an unvoluntary but needed restday:-)
Well early on the day looked good. After breakfast it started looking shit. At takeoff is was bad. Lots of mad launches… No one got hurt but it was close many times!
We all got in the air and went straight over to second ridge. Got fairly stuck the for a while. After some scraping around low I climbed out very easy? Way to easy… The clouds were growing.
We flew towards red temple when Jim said enough.
We landed at Sunrise and chilled the afternoon at Tibetan restaurant in village.
Meteo for next days look crap, so tonight we are drinking Una No1… The man in english beer and wineshop laughed at me when I asked for it:-)
Also I shoped a aluminium Gurpreet pot. For volbivs.
Yesterday Eddie found a rather large scorpion. 8-10cm… Scary.
Today it was cloudy and I felt abit tired. Soo I took a day off.
Me and Rony Jabbour hiked down to the Bir road taxistand and took a taxi to Beijnath. Had some streetfood and visited the old temple. Though I think we appreciated the monkeys more than the temple…;-)
People have been flying all day. Big clouds in the back looks abit mean.
Tomorrow back in the harness i hope…
